Aims and benefits of one-to-one homestay courses

  • To achieve maximum results in the minimum time.
  • To significantly improve your language skills in areas of priority.
  • To develop greater confidence, fluency and accuracy in speaking English.
  • You can study at your own pace.
  • Isolation from your mother tongue and complete immersion in the English language.
  • An efficient way to learn, use and practice the language in a friendly, supportive environment.

Course Content

After booking your course you will be sent a “needs analysis” form and asked to complete and return it. This form allows your tutor to determine the reasons why you are learning English and in which situations you currently use, or intend to use English in your everyday life.

As the lessons are one to one tuition, your tutor will specifically design your course to suit your personal needs and aims. We will discuss your individual requirements and tailor-make your course to suit you. The lessons can be general, business, medical, or English for a specific purpose. All levels of students are catered for, from beginner to advanced.

The lessons will include a range of learning skills, including speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar (dependent on your individual requirements). A range of materials can be used on all the courses but clients are also welcome to bring their own materials if they prefer.

At most schools in Malta and Gozo lessons are only 45 minutes long, however our lessons are 60 minutes long. Therefore if you book 15 lessons you will receive 15 hours of formal tuition.

The lessons normally take place in the mornings, although your learning will continue outside this time as you immerse yourself in the language and socialize with our family and friends.

At the end of the course you will be given a certificate and recommendations for future study.
